League Game - Harbinger v eDenny!

My next league game is coming up tonight, vs Menoth - and the Harbinger. This promises to be a hard fought battle by someone with a good sense of the rules, Paul is currently on a 50% win rate, with most of those wins by Caster Kill.

This game will use the Scenario Incoming - you score 1 CP for controlling your objective, and 2 CP for destroying the enemies and controlling his zone. I will have Nightmare ready to make sure the Harbinger is scared of getting close to her objective, while eDenny pops feat on hers to get her CPs. I want to win on scenario, but against this army ill be a little off balance - and wont hesitate to wipe the Harbinger out if I can. 2nd turn would suit me the most here, but Ill take what I can get :D

Harbringer
-Repenter
-Revenger
-Dervish
-Reckoner
-Hierophant
Holy Zealots
-Monolith Bearer

Paladin of the Wall
Reclaimer
Mechanik
Vassal of Menoth
High Paladin Dartan Vilmon

The Harbinger poses a great threat to a lot of my models, with her strong spell list. Cataclysm is pretty amazing, although if Harbinger is far away even my low ARM models might survive.

More worrying are all those light Warjacks. Only one has an arc-node however, so at least that limits the amount of magical attacks coming out of the Harbinger. (This is of course the Revenger - although I always mix them up since they sound the same)

The Heavy Warjack doesnt seem too bad, most of the things it would kill are immune for the most part to its attacks.

The Zealots are the only front line unit, but they are always dangerous since they have Greater Destiny to pop once a game. If I can catch him out, ill try and take that out first. Hellmouth would be good here, as it will auto-kill them under the template.

Of course, magical solos are all here - the Paladins have Magical Swords, and the Vassal has a magical bolt. The Vassal will probably be using Enliven and Ancillary instead, but its always good to keep an eye out on that sneaky magical attack there!

League Game - Toshi vs Kevin

A quick league game tonight versus Kevin, with his Cryx Mortenebra army. More details regarding this army can be seen here.

As I said before, my priority here was taking out the damned Warwitch Siren (having one myself in this army, I was well aware of how good they are) and locking his army in place with the feat to ensure domination of the scenario.

 The Deployment - I was going second, so matched up my Machine Wraith's vs his Jacks, and the rest of my troops vs his troops.

Second turn - a lot of Bane Knights coming from the right flank, and a sneaky Stalker on the left flank. I was fairly confident I was out of range of any repercussions here, and had a good chance of catching him out when he moved forwards next turn.

 A swarm of Bane Knights contested my zone, while the Reaper failed to drag Nightmare (due to Stealth). The Black Ogryn advanced, but had no-one in range that they could hit with their non-magical Harpoons.

eDeneghras feat turn - Bad news for Kevin, his whole army with the exception of Deryliss (the Skarlock) is locked in place. Denny and the combined forces of Bane Lord Tartarus and Nightmare easily wiped out the Bane Knights, the fake Tartarus and the evil Warwitch. A charge from the Ghost Raiders left the Black Ogryn severely injured, and generated 2 new Ghosts. 1 CP for me.

My feat basically locked me into the zone, and locked Kevin out of it. He had almost no chance of killing either eDenny (Incorporeal) or clearing the zone - as I had 6 Ghost Raiders and two Machine Wraiths at that point contesting. After a couple of missed attacks, his turn was effectively over and I won on Control Points.

Wow... one Weekend, 7 Games. FT2012

Forbidden Temple 2012 went down this weekend, with a grand total of 26 of the top Warmachine players in New Zealand turning up to lay some smack down.

We played 7 rounds, and I left with a score of 4 wins, 3 losses. Im not entirely sure where I ended up in the rankings, but until I can confirm I think I came 9th/26. Possibly the best score out of the Hawkes Bay guys, but Adam won the same number of games so I cant be sure where he and I ended up.

Anyway, I brought my camera and took tons of photos of the various battles, which I will put up in the special "Forbidden Temple 2012" page that will be opened up shortly for battle reports and pictures.

Sneak Peak:

Christers eDenny army, full to the brim of Bane Thralls, pops feat and catches most of Gaspys Bane Thralls in it. With his Seether about to charge and throw my Seether into the deep water, things are looking grim.

Revenge Taskforce vs Rowan

I have a game with Rowan this friday to try and even the odds, I am currently 0 for 2 games with him so far, and yet to play him in the league.

He will have his retribution list, maybe Kaelyssa as a caster, maybe someone else.

Most likely he will field a large unit of sentinels and a large unit of MHSF - something I have to be aware of while planning.

I am readying both a 35point list and a 50point list, depending on what we end up playing.

35 points:

Vladimir Tzepesci, the Dark Champion (*5pts)
* Drago (8pts)
Battle Mechaniks (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
* Battle Mechanik Officer (2pts)
Kayazy Eliminators (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Kayazy Eliminators (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Man-o-war Shocktroopers (Leader and 2 Grunts) (6pts)
Widowmakers (Leader and 3 Grunts) (4pts)
Winter Guard Mortar Crew (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Man-o-war Drakhun (with dismount) (5pts)
Manhunter (2pts)
Manhunter (2pts)

and at 50 points:

Vladimir Tzepesci, the Dark Champion (*5pts)
* Drago (8pts)
* Sylys Wyshnalyrr, the Seeker (2pts)
Battle Mechaniks (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
* Battle Mechanik Officer (2pts)
Kayazy Eliminators (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Kayazy Eliminators (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Man-o-war Shocktroopers (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)
Widowmakers (Leader and 3 Grunts) (4pts)
Winter Guard Mortar Crew (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Winter Guard Mortar Crew (Leader and Grunt) (3pts)
Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist (2pts)
Man-o-war Drakhun (with dismount) (5pts)
Manhunter (2pts)
Manhunter (2pts)
Ogrun Bokur (3pts)
Widowmaker Marksman (2pts)

Ive chosen to max out the shocktroopers, and add all the merc solos that I wish I could take in the 35 point list. This includes the Bokur for defence, Sylys for focus efficiency, Gorman for clouds and blind bombs, and includes more Khador models for Vlad's feat and Transference - another Mortar and the Marksman. This increases my ranged threat as well.
